While working in a private practice setting and specializing in Eating Disorders, I found that most of my clients had to travel all over NOVA to get the treatment for the recovery of their eating disorder and spent a lot of money and time, only to find that they still weren’t getting the level of care that they needed. The vision came to me that there needs to be a place in Northern Va where eating disorder specialists were gathered together to work on providing comprehensive services like you would see in a residential center, but where the clients can still have the opportunity to live life at home. Also, by offering lower cost services, like group therapy, and reduced rate individual sessions, the clients may have a better opportunity to get the amount of care they need. I have also seen many times that individuals are sent by their therapists, families or doctors straight to residential without going to a specialist and receiving
specific treatment for eating disorders first.
Do you or someone you know seem to be suffering from an eating disorder?
You are not alone. It is estimated that 8 to 10 million Americans have an eating disorder. Although eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness, those seeking help often don’t get the type of treatment they need partly due to the high cost of treatment. Inpatient care is costing up to $30,000 per month — a cost that is frequently left uncovered by insurance companies. Prosperity is dedicated to making residential treatment a last option. We know recovery is not a straight path, so we offer individualized care for each client, ranging from weekly therapy sessions to all day support. Throughout the course of treatment, our team works cohesively by providing meal support, multiple daily group sessions, nutrition counseling, and medical care at a reasonable price.
Group Therapy ranges from psychoeducational to experiential and focuses on such topics as anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, teen issues, self-esteem, substance abuse, sexuality, surviving trauma, family patterns, body image, interpersonal relationships, assertiveness, nutrition, eating patterns, and grief and loss. We teach in these groups Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
Residential treatment of an eating disorder in the US ranges from $500 to $2,000 per day. Prosperity offers comprehensive services “a la carte” so the individual and the treatment team can ascertain which services are most advantageous for the client.
Prosperity is centrally located between Loudoun County and Fairfax County and Prince William of Northern Virginia.
